My DIY Umrah

1️⃣ Lost Passport During Umrah

🔹 Immediate Steps

  1. Stay Calm — Panicking may make it harder to retrace steps.

  2. Search Nearby Areas — Check your hotel, Masjid areas, transport, or Ziyarah spots.

  3. Report to Authorities:

    • Police Station: File a lost passport report (Police: 999)

    • Obtain an official copy of the report — required for replacement.

  4. Contact Your Embassy / Consulate:

    • They can issue an emergency travel document or temporary passport.

    • Keep the embassy’s contact saved before traveling.

  5. Inform Your Hotel / Group Leader:

    • Hotels often assist in communication and provide guidance.

🔹 Tips for Prevention

  • Keep a digital copy of passport, visa, and ID in your phone or email.

  • Carry your passport in a secure pouch instead of your bag.

  • Only take it out when absolutely necessary.

2️⃣ Illness During Umrah

🔹 Common Health Issues

  • Dehydration / Heatstroke – from long hours in the sun and walking

  • Fatigue / Exhaustion – especially during Tawaf & Sa‘i

  • Chronic conditions flare-up – diabetes, heart, asthma

🔹 Immediate Steps

  1. Stop and Rest – find a shaded or quiet area

  2. Hydrate – drink water or Zamzam

    • Madinah: Ohud Hospital, King Fahd Hospital

  4. Medication – always carry your prescription medicines and a small first-aid kit

  5. Avoid Crowds – if contagious or feeling weak, postpone Tawaf/Sa‘i
