My DIY Umrah

📝 How to Apply for an Umrah Visa

1️⃣ Check Your Eligibility ✅

  • Must be Muslim

  • Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months

  • Check if your nationality can use the Saudi tourist e-visa, which now allows Umrah

2️⃣ Gather Required Documents 📄

  • Passport (original, valid ≥ 6 months)

  • Passport-sized photo (digital for e-visa)

  • Vaccination certificate (meningitis & COVID-19, if required)

  • Travel itinerary (flight & hotel details recommended)

  • Payment method (credit/debit card for visa fee)

3️⃣ Choose Visa Type ✈️

  • Tourist e-visa 🌐 – fast, online, valid for Umrah

  • Group Umrah visa 👥 – via travel agencies (mostly for large groups)

  • Individual Umrah visa – through approved travel agents or Saudi embassy

4️⃣ Apply Online (For E-Visa) 🌐

  1. Go to official Saudi visa website

  2. Fill in personal details, passport info, and travel plan

  3. Upload digital photo & vaccination proof

  4. Pay visa fee 💳

  5. Receive e-visa by email

5️⃣ Print & Save Copies 📄

  • Keep a printed copy

  • Save digital copy on phone

  • Carry both while traveling

6️⃣ After Approval ✅

  • Check validity (usually 30 days single entry for Umrah)

  • Travel to Saudi Arabia and keep passport, visa, and vaccination proof ready at immigration

  • Follow Umrah rules (Ihram, Miqat, rituals)

7️⃣ Common Mistakes to Avoid ⚠️

  • Applying too late ⏰

  • Using an invalid or expiring passport

  • Forgetting vaccination certificates 💉

  • Not saving a digital/printed copy of the visa

Tip: For most first-time pilgrims, the tourist e-visa is the easiest and fastest way to do Umrah.
